Dr. Arjun Khaira is an Australian-trained and certified psychiatrist specialising in adult, youth, and intellectual disability psychiatry. Born and raised in Canberra, he is a fifth-generation Australian of Punjabi ancestry and is fluent in Punjabi. He has a strong interest in disabilities, multicultural mental health, men’s health, and doctors’ mental health. Dr. Khaira’s practice is guided by core values of honesty and inclusiveness.
He is unaffiliated with any pharmaceutical organisations, ensuring a balanced, fair, and unbiased approach to care. He is experienced in interpersonal social rhythm therapy (IPSRT), as well as supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapies.

A graduate of Bond University, Dr. Khaira completed his psychiatric training in Canberra and New South Wales. He is strongly committed to social justice, demonstrated through his aid work in the Solomon Islands and leadership in global health organizations.

Dr. Khaira holds several professional leadership roles, including Treasurer of the ACT branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and Secretary of the National Association of Practicing Psychiatrists (NAPP). He is also a member of the National Association of Disability Medicine. As an accredited supervisor for the RANZCP training program, Dr. Khaira is actively involved in the education and mentoring of registrars, medical students, and doctors. He frequently provides individual and group supervision for GPs, pediatricians, and other medical professionals.
He also conducts assessments and reviews for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including restrictive practice reviews and access/maintenance reports.

He is passionate about multicultural psychiatry, education, and supporting registrars and doctors in training. His compassionate approach to patient care and commitment to promoting mental health and well-being make him a respected and influential figure in psychiatry.
